Iron workers Local 549 Apprentices work for signatory contractors within the jurisdictional areas of West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Local 549 does NOT pay travel, per-diem, or to relocate any member of Ironworkers Local Union No. 549.
Local 549 Apprenticeship and Training Program is designed to prepare candidates for a career in the field of Ironworking. The program is a three-year program consisting of six, six-month periods designed to earn wages while learning. As an apprentices, your wage rates begin at 55% ($18.95) with 18% gross vacation pay. You will have health insurance, a dental plan, and an annuity plan.
